for Collegiate undergraduate and graduate Woodwind and Horn Players
About the Program
Chamber Winds is a program designed to advance all aspects of music making, primarily through the study, rehearsal, and performance of the wind quintet repertoire. In addition to daily technique classes, coachings, and private lessons given by the dynamic members of the Prairie Winds, the curriculum includes innovative instrument-free sessions that heighten listening skills, rhythm, intonation, and musicality. Seminars about topics such as peak performance, communication, and audition preparation are presented in unique formats utilizing theater improvisation techniques, games, and role play. All aspects of the program are designed to help students discover new creative ideas for developing their individual artistry. Above all, the faculty strives to provide a healthy learning environment which fosters a cordial and respectful relationship between
all participants.
Eligibility
Open to collegiate undergraduate and graduate flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon players.
