In Person Audition Procedure
All young artists must audition. Admission is open to piano, violin, viola, and cello players, ages 14-24. Candidates must demonstrate ability in two contrasting excerpts (slow and fast movements of a sonata -- including solo Bach -- and/or concerto.) Accompanists are not required. However, string players desiring an accompanist may provide their own. A letter of recommendation from the student’s present or recent teacher is required for admission. All who audition in person will be informed of the results by the end of March.

Audition by Recording Procedure
Auditions by tape of at least 5 minutes duration (video tape or DVD are strongly preferred), will be accepted for students who live more than 100 miles from an audition site or who cannot attend one of the scheduled live auditions. Candidates must demonstrate ability in two contrasting excerpts (slow and fast movements of a sonata -- including solo Bach -- and/oir concerto.)
